Mary “Nuddie” Curtis grew up in Leonardtown with her mother, father and sisters. She was an active child who loved to play with the other kids in the neighborhood. Some of her favorite things to do were playing Ring Around the Rosie and riding bicycles. She attended Benjamin Banneker Elementary and Medley’s Neck School.
After finishing school, Mary started working with her grandmother as a daycare provider. She did this for about 20 years. She also cooked with her mother at Breton Bay Inn and cleaned houses. Even with her busy work life, Mary still found the time to visit with friends and family. They often went crabbing and spent a lot of time outdoors.
Mary is loved by everyone here, and she is a social butterfly. She is often seen laughing and chatting with her peers. You’ll never see her without her jewelry, and she spends a lot of time in the morning making sure she looks great! Chesapeake Shores is lucky to have her in our family.
