Resident of the Month: Doris Carroll (April 2013)

Doris Carroll was born in Washington D.C.,but raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland. She shared with us stories of horseback riding, trips to the movies, and picnics while growing up. She met Mahlon Carrol while working in a War Plant in Riverdale, Maryland  as a stock chaser. It was love at first sight. She married Mahlon, whom later became a WWII veteran. Doris and Mahlon had nine children: Rose, Gail, David, Steven, Deborah, Bernadette, Lisa, Sam, and Eddie. They raised them all in St. Mary’s County. She loved taking her children to the zoo, amusement parks, and the pool. Doris enjoys Bingo, auctions, attending our Crab-Fest, and pizza parties. She also expressed her interest in supernatural movies, flowers, and potted plants. Doris’s advice for everyone is: “Forget about yesterday and live everyday as it comes.”  Doris Carroll was elected as Resident of the Month by her peers here at Chesapeake Shores.

Join us in congratulating her for being April’s Resident of the Month!
