He applied to college and attended the University of North Carolina, stating he didn’t know a soul in the state, and graduated in 1990. He then obtained his masters degree in public relations at Ball State in Muncie, IN. This is where David Letterman, Jim Davis, and Garfield’s cartoonist attended college. Eric taught a class in computer design, then applied to be a teacher and got in a PHD program at Florida State and moving to Tallahassee in 1991. He disliked teaching and moved to Atlanta where he worked for a not for profit child abuse prevention program.
