March 2014 – Resident of the Month – Alice Porter


Alice Porter was born on December 25, 1921 to Ray and Pearl Lee. She met and married William H. Porter in July of 1935 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. From this union there are 9 children. She held various jobs including, a chef at Camp Crown in Scotland Maryland, a Cafeteria Aide at Cardinal Gibbons Institute in St. Inigoes Maryland, Housekeeper at Lexington Park and The Belvedere Hotels both in Lexington Park. She is a devoted member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in St. Inigoes Maryland, where she joined several  organizations within the church. She is a standing member with the knights of St. Jerome’s Society and a member of the American Legion in Ridge, Maryland. She was a 26 year member at Loffler Center on Chancellors Run until she was transferred to St. Mary’s Adult Medical Center in Hollywood Maryland. Alice was elected Resident of the Month during resident council.
